*All Next Generation GP events suspended until at least end of June*
The Next Generation GP team are sorry to announce that we have now made the difficult decision to suspend all current programmes and events until at least the end of June.
We recognise that Next Generation GP participants and leaders are frontline health professionals and that your priority during this period will be to care for your patients, your loved ones and yourselves. It now seems probable that some form of ‘lock down’ will persist into May/June, and we are aware that even when this ends there will be a very busy period of getting back to ‘business as usual’ for all of General Practice, including GP training schemes and of course our speakers.
We feel that this is an important time for Next Gen to step up and support our community of GPs and trainees who will all be feeling under significant pressure given the workload and uncertainty. We are working on a range of plans to engage with our community nationally over the next few months and we’ll share details of these ASAP.
We would also like to say a huge THANK YOU to local Next Gen leaders who have put so much time and energy into organising our programmes all across the country, as well as all of our speakers who had offered up their time to join us. We’re determined that these efforts will not be wasted, and we will work hard to ensure that programmes are rearranged for all current (and future) participants as soon as this outbreak is over.
Thank you for your understanding and for all you are doing to serve your communities during this difficult time.
