About
Next Generation GP was established and designed by Nish Manek, Becks Fisher and Rammya Mathew, all of whom were GP trainees and National Medical Directors Clinical Fellows at the time.
NextGen runs both national and regional events, supported by local GPs and GP trainees.
National events are usually hosted online, and consist of webinars and interviews with inspiring leaders. All our national events can be re-watched on our Youtube channel.
Local events run as six group sessions, including interviews, themed workshops, talks or facilitated group work sessions, addressing specific leadership challenges.
Dinner is provided and networking encouraged!

Nish is a GP in Cambridge.
In 2016/17 she spent a year as a Clinical Fellow at NHS England. She was inspired by a similar initiative run in Birmingham for CCG leaders by Nick Harding, and set up the Next Generation GP programme with the help of Robert Varnam and Arvind Madan from NHS England.
“NextGen has grown at a pace that I could never have predicted, which I think proves there is a real appetite amongst my generation to improve things and contribute to the future of primary care. Our team has expanded to over 50 young GPs who are doing a fantastic job in helping me to lead it across the country, and we’re still growing.“
